Our weather has been cold
but no more snow in the mountains. Just cloudy days, windy and cold
enough to wear winter clothes with light rain now and then. But at
least we aren't suffering like the United States is with all the
storms and snow.
Well not much going on
this month so this will be a short blog.
My washing machine had
been leaking so Dave tried to fix it but it still leaks. It was
doable though so I continued to do laundry. One morning I loaded the
machine and turned it on and it filled but didn't want to agitate or
rinse. So Dave tried to see what the problem was and we couldn't
figure it out unless we emptied the washer. So all the clothes had
to come out and go into a bucket then we had to drain as much of the
water as we could which was most of it. I washed the clothes using
the bucket and plunger method so at least I could have clean clothes.
Then Dave pulled the washer out and took it apart. We found that
the belts need to be replaced as they were loose, and the mechanism
that runs the cycles is broken. So we have ordered parts for it.
One of our friends is going to his house in San Diego for a few days
so we are having the parts sent to his house. When he returns in a
few days Dave will put the new parts in and then see if the washer
will work. If not then it will be washing small loads in the bucket
and the larger items I will take into town to the laundry lady. No
worries. I think a new washer is on the list for when we return from
summer vacation in Washington. The machine I have now is over 25
years old so it is no wonder it is starting to break down, plus it
was free! For down here I don't need one with all the bells and
whistles on it, just a simple selection of cycles and load capacity.
I have been busy with
making crafts for the arts and craft show in April so that has kept
me busy and also doing a lot of reading.
Our grandson Brody just
turned 11 on the 24th. He is growing into a handsome
young man.
Well I said this would be
short so this is all I have. Stay tuned for next month's happenings.
Oh by the way-----I haven't dropped my keys once since the last time. I make sure they are hooked to my purse before I get out of the truck!!! Now everyone asks me where my keys are!!!! Ha!!
